Cologne

On our final day of sight-seeing, Katie and I checked out Cologne, another 2.5 hour drive.

The Rhine runs through Cologne. There are lots of bridges throughout the city and a nice river walk green space that sort of reminded me of Portland's river front (and all the skaters and "interesting" people made it feel even more like Portland!) I hear there's a Lindt Chocolate factory in the city, I think I'll have to check that out next time : )

The Cologne Cathedral... the first stone was laid in 1248 and it's 157 meters high. In addition to the main cathedral, there are 12 other Romanic churches throughout the city. I don't know that we found all 12, but we did stroll around for awhile and saw several.
The bell tower, but no bell
The pulpit
Side street, aren't the cobblestoned roads cool?
