For Labor Day, I signed up for a Swiss Hike with my old roommate Michelle. Michelle is separating from the Air Force and heading back to the states in less than 2 months, so it was really fun to spend time together before she leaves. Club 7, the singles ministry through the chapel, organizes the annual hike. It was to Kandersteg, Switzerland - about 6 hours away. It was a gorgeous place (but really, everywhere in Switzerland is absolutely amazing).

We arrived on Friday night. On Saturday, we road a tram up the mountainside, and then walked to a lake (so, there was some hiking involved, haha). Michelle and I enjoyed just hanging out and taking it all in. It's pretty cool to lay on the side of an Alp and just look out at awesome mountain peaks.
On Sunday, we took a drive and then did a ropes course. Over spring break, I did a ropes course for the first time. I thought I would like it, but it turns out that being up on small platforms and walking from tree to tree on ropes and cables, in the rain/wind with 50 or so impatient teens wasn't all that enjoyable for me. I thought I'd give it another try. This one went way better. I wasn't rushed. It still took me a few rounds to get comfortable with the zip lining and stepping out on logs and cables, suspended 15-25 meters from the ground... but I ended up having a good time. : )
This church was on the trail up to the tram station.
The chalets in Switzerland are awesome - they are so cute and always covered in beautiful flower window boxes. These two buildings were in the town we stayed in.
