Catching Up, pt. 2

One month after graduation, my family celebrated another special event...

On June 19th, my dad retired from the US Air Force - after 30 years of service. It was a fun day, we had lots of family and friends join us for the weekend. Rich, who's stationed at Ellsworth in Rapid City, SD drove up for the ceremony. It was great to have the 4 of us together again... August 07 was the last time we were all together.
^ When a chief retires, they usually do a flag passing, where 1 person from each rank lines up and passes a flag from E-1 (Airman Basic) all the way through E-9 (Chief). At each rank, a highlight from Dad's career was read. Rich got to participate in the ceremony, representing my dad's time as a SSgt.

^Rich & I got certificates too, they were "Dependent Certificates" that acknowledge the sacrafices we made as Air Force kids.
