Strasbourg, France and Germany's Black Forest

From the streets of Strasbourg...
The large cathedral church in the city square... (different than the one above)
Germany's Black Forest...
This past weekend, I went to these places with the CSM Women for an annual retreat. We spent time talking about rest, enjoying each other's company, getting to know one another better, and spent a morning alone with the Lord. It was a great weekend. The CSM team is pretty spread out, and because we are all so heavily involved in our ministries, it can be challenging to spend time together. We have to be very intentional in seeing one another for team building purposes and encouragement.

We spent a little time in Strasbourg on our drive down, went to a cute French restaurant and walked around the city center before finishing the drive to the Black Forest. On one free afternoon we again crossed into France to check out some second hand stores. I was able to find a few great deals on items for my future place... including an antique marble toped night stand for 7 euro (that's less than $10!). We stayed at another Cadence missionary's house - so gorgeous! It had a lodge-like feeling, wood burning stoves and was surrounded by lots of trees - very restful!
