In Germany, the game began a little after 12:30 and didn't end until 4:00 AM. It was 5:00 before I could remotely calm down for some sleep. I sported my Clay "the beast" Matthews jersey, cheesehead and kept my pop cold by using my foam cheese can cozy. And to counter the terrible towels the Steeler fans waved, I brought my Packer "title towel." (It later appeared in our youth chaplain's office... he's a Steelers fan, so I pinned my towel over his on Monday! ha!)
My brother watched the game with friends and family in Rapid City, SD wearing his best Clay Matthews costume! Unfortunately the military won't let him grow long blonde locks, but that was a pretty good wig. We both watched the game with Steeler fans... which in the end, was lots of fun!
My dad watched throughout the night too in Afghanistan, thankfully his shop just got a their tv working and connected with AFN. My mom was the only one getting to participate in all the buzz throughout Wisconsin this football season. She hooked us up with NFC Conference shirts before they appeared anywhere else for sale. I got a Super Bowl shirt from her in the mail on Monday and wore it Tuesday, and got a lot of puzzled looks how I managed to get one just days after the big game... people didn't realize it was missing the word "Champions;" for the past 2 weeks people have known the Packers would be playing in the game. : )
What a great weekend! And now, for a moment of silence for the end of the football season...

I immediately thought of you as soon as I heard that the packers were going to the superbowl. ;) When they won, I was thinking, "oh man, Beth must be happy." :)
