I'm moving... from Schrollbach to Hohenecken (no worries, I'm staying on the field in Germany!).
I've been living a super sweet gal since January. She's an Air Force nurse and has been an amazing blessing. I've so appreciated her friendship, as I've transitioned to life in Germany. Michelle is separating from the Air Force in a few months and will be moving back to America and onto something new.
With such a high turnover of people in the military community over the summer, I knew it would be a good idea to start looking for a new place, for once Michelle is gone. (In steps Heather.) Heather got to the field in April and is working with students in the K-town school district - the other school in our community. As Heather and I talked about longer-term living arrangements, we discussed pooling our rent budgets and living together. We'd both like to do ministry out of our home and work at getting girls from both of our youth groups together more often.
We began house hunting several weeks ago. We really wanted to find an apartment in Hohenecken, a village where most of our co-workers live. We found one place and fell in love with it immediately. We filled out paperwork and gave it to the housing agency. The agency then gave all the applications to the landlord. The landlord got to sort though the papers and select a renter. We didn't get chosen. : ( We were super bummed. We looked at a few more places, but none of them compared. Heather stalked the place for awhile and noticed no one ever moved in. She finally e-mailed the agency and asked about it. They called back a few days later and offered it to us!!! We were super stoked!!! This past Monday we went in a and met the landlords and signed our contract. We'll do our walk through and get our keys on the 1st of August!!!
Our contract!!!, pictures of our amazing place will be coming soon!
